Founded on the principles of people helping people

We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions. You may have questions that are not addressed here or may need more clarification of an answer, so we encourage you to call or email the location nearest you.

How much do your services cost?
United Homecare Services is a non-profit public benefit corporation and assists clients in securing the help they need on a sliding scale based on household income. On occasions, there may be other factors that are taken into consideration regarding the rate. Please see the Rate Schedule at Information Download Center.

What services do you provide?
United Homecare Service offers a wide array of non-medical services to assist in and around the home. For a listing of specific services, please see the Services List at our Information Download Center. If you do not see a specific item on the list that you require, please contact one of our area managers. If a service you require is out of the realm of what we are able to provide, we will make recommendations to other agencies that may be able to help you.

Do you have a minimum of hours per visit?
Yes, we require a 2 hour minimum.

Do you provide live-in caregivers?
No, but we certainly can accommodate a client 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This takes approximately 4 to 6 caregivers in some situations, and as little as 3 caregivers scheduled 12 hours per shift with one caregiver working a 48-hour weekend in other situations. This allows for fresh and alert caregiving around the clock.

How do we find out if you can help us?
Generally, a phone call is all it takes for us to determine how we can best help you. Typically our area manager will schedule a visit to the home to assess the situation, check the safety level of the home (bathroom, kitchen, etc.), and help determine level of care required.

How do we start the process to receive caregiving?
The best way is to call the office nearest you. Please see the Locations page of this web site and call the office nearest to the home where caregiving is needed. If you are not sure which location is closest, please call our toll free phone number - 1-866-996-9090.

"I will tell you what I have told everyone I know; The people at United Homecare are fantastic. They treat mom just like family - I am so grateful"
"They are very astute at matching caregivers to our needs. They have been wonderful during the last four years. First providing care for my mother after a fall, and now adapting to the changing needs of our circumstances, UHS is providing care for my father. UHS has been caring, flexible and sensitive to our families changing needs."
